Cody Simpson won both matches in the North/South Wrestling All Star Classic. Cody defeated a 2 time 1A/2A State Champion during the weekend event. Congratulations to Cody Simpson.

Congratulations to Cody Simpson who placed 3rd in the State Wrestling Championships this past weekend. Cody will be competing in the North/ South Wrestling All Star Classic this Friday and Saturday at North Myrtle Beach H.S.

Also, congratulations to Charlie Connor who placed 4th in the 147 lb. weight class.

Congratulations to Byrnes High School senior Tre'von Davis for capturing the 115 lb. Upper State Championship title this past Saturday at Laurens H.S. This win qualifies Tre'von to compete in the State Championships this Friday and Saturday in Anderson at the Civic Center. Also qualifying for the State tournament were junior Charlie Connor at 147 lbs. who finished 2nd, and senior Cody Simpson at 154 lbs. who placed 4th.

Trevon Davis captured the 115 lb. Upper State Championship title this past Saturday at Laurens High School. This qualifies Tre to compete in the State Championships this Friday and Saturday in Anderson at the Civic Center. Also, qualifying for the State tournament were Jr. Charlie Connor at 147 lbs. who finished second and Senior Cody Simpson at 154 lbs. who placed fourth.

This past weekend the Rebel wrestlers hosted the Region II AAAA tournament. The Rebels qualified 7 individuals to the Upper State tournament in two weeks at Laurens High School. The Rebels had 3 individual Champions: Trevon Davis at 115 lbs, Charlie Conner at 147 lbs, and Ben Clark at Heavyweight. Alex Spencer, Dalton Starnes, and Cody Simpson finished in second place while Diontre Hill placed 3rd.

The wrestling team will be competing in the first round of the play-offs this Saturday at Rock Hill High School. The wrestlers will face Laurens High School in the first round.

Due to the inclement weather, the wrestling match has been postponed till 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 26.

This past weekend the wrestling team placed 3rd in the Spartanburg County Tournament. 

Champions were:

108 Alex Spencer, 115 Trevon Davis, 145 Charlie Connor, and 285 Ben Clark

2nd place finishers were: 132 Dalton Starnes and 152 Cody Simpson

3rd place finisher was: 138 Earl Milton

The Rebels will wrestle in the Spartanburg County tournament Saturday at Spartanburg H.S. Wrestling starts at 9:30.

Last night the wrestling team defeated Gaffney 40-37 and lost to Boiling Springs 47-24. Leading the Rebels with double victories were: Alex Spencer, Charlie Conner, Cody Simpson, Josh Mabe and Ben Clarke. The wrestlers will travel to Spartanburg Thursday evening to grapple with the Vikings.

This past weekend the Rebel wrestling team placed 2nd in the York Cougar Duals. The wrestlers defeated Union County, Seneca, and Broome on the way to the 2nd place finish. Leading the Rebels on the day were Dalton Starnes, Charlie Conner and Cody Simpson who each went undefeated on the day.

Last night the Byrnes Wrestling team opened up Region II AAAA competition with two victories. The Byrnes wrestlers defeated Wade Hampton 39-37 and Mauldin 38-34. The Rebels will host Dorman and the South Carolina School for the Deaf and Blind Thursday. Start time will be 6 PM.

Saturday, December 8 Alex Spencer placed 4th, and Trevon Davis and Charlie Connor placed 3rd in the Beef O'Brady's Invitational at Fort Mill High School.
Tuesday, December 11 the wrestling team will host Woodruff, Greenville and Seneca. Start time will be 6:30 p.m.

This weekend the wrestling team competed in the Southern Slam at Eastside H.S. This was the best finish the Rebels have had in this 42 team event since the inception four years ago.

The wrestling team took 7 wrestlers to the North Henderson Invitational November 24 and placed third in the 17 team event. All seven wrestlers placed in the Top 3. Third place finishers were Jordan Smith, Tre' von Davis and Dalton Starnes. Josh Mabe placed 2nd. The Rebels had three individual champions; Alex Spencer (first tournament win in his career), Charlie Conner and Cody Simpson.

This past weekend wrestlers Trevon Davis and Cody Simpson won the Region II Wrestling Championships for their respective weight classes. Nine other wrestlers qualified for the Upper State Tournament that will be held February 17-18:

Congratulations to Diontre Hill and Cody Lyles.  They both placed third in the JV State Championships over the January 20-21 weekend.

Congratulations to Cody Simpson, Lane Ryals, and Alex Spencer who placed 2nd, 2nd  and 3rd respectively in the North Henderson Knight Invitational this past weekend.  Also, Diontre Hill placed 1st in the JV 152 lb. tournament.

The wrestling team will compete tonight, November 28, against Greer and Laurens at home.  Start time is 6:00 PM.
