The Varsity Lady Rebel Basketball team had a huge win Wednesday night over the Spartanburg Vikings, 57-53. Bre James scored a game-high 19 points to lead the Rebels to a home victory in non-region play. The freshman was also 8-for-8 from the free-throw line and drained a pair of crucial free throws with less than 10 seconds remaining to seal the win. Bre Hines scored nine points, while Catherine Gillard added seven for Byrnes. Jameshia Logan, Lilian Funderburk and Lauren Duggar each scored six points for the Rebels.
“The biggest thing I’m proud of is we have had so many injuries with three starters out. We could have folded, and they have not done that,” Stacey Parris (Head Coach) said. “We showed the depth of our program tonight and the character of the kids.” (Quote from Spartanburg Herald)
