The Lady Tennis program competed in the first home scrimmage yesterday, defeating Blue Ridge 5-2. 

#1 singles, Kylie Birch (11), won 2-0 with a shutout of 6-0 in the second set, #2 singles, Haven Coker (12), won 2-1 with a 10-4 finish in the third set tiebreaker. #4 singles, Parker Birch (7), won 2-0, and #5 singles, MK Flynn (10) won 2-0.  In #1 doubles, Kylie Birch and MK Flynn, tied their first set 8-8 but won the 10 game tiebreaker 10-7!

For #3 singles, Claudia Burnett (9) lost her match 2-1 losing 8-10 in the third set tiebreaker, and #2 doubles, Katrina Baker (12) and Rae’Ghan Foster (12) lost their match 2-1, losing 0-10 in the third set tiebreaker. 

Yesterday’s match was a true representation of the talent on the Byrnes Tennis team.  The girls showed great sportsmanship and teamwork.

We will host Woodruff on Tuesday, August 30th at 4:30 pm.  The home courts are located behind Beech Springs Intermediate School.
