Congratulations to the Byrnes High School Girls Varsity Soccer Team on their first season win against Landrum 6-0. They also defeated Boiling Springs in a shutout 1-0. Joni Payne had her first region shutout ever, assisted by Sydney Dempsey and Dominique Talley.
Conditioning will begin on Monday, January 7 and go till January 25 (4:00-5:00 p.m.) at Byrnes High Track/ Field. Varsity Tryouts are January 28, 29, 30. JV tryouts are January 30, 31 and February 1.
The girls have 2 wins and 6 loses. The girls won Tuesday, April 10 2-0 to Woodmont High School. The goals were scored by Minyahn Pham from center back and also from Kas Streater from the center mid.
The Varsity Girls' Soccer Team began the regular season with a 5-0 shutout against Greer High School on March 6. The team was a focused force as they held Greer at bay. Scoring for the Byrnes' Rebels began with Kas Streater connecting on a cross from Grace Welch. As the evening progressed, Lexi Corkren had two more goals along with the Mullins sisters Cheyenne and Skye also scoring.
As a coach, I hope to see our team mesh together to form a cohesive group that supports itself both on and off the field. Each year the girls' soccer program expands and strengthens in focus and ability. The girls' are finding their comfort zones with each other.
