How do athletes get a letter in a sport?

Athletes will receive a certificate for lettering in a sport as defined by their coach. They may take the certificate to Jostens and obtain the block letter "B" at no charge. Athletes may purchase a letter jacket at his/her own expense. The price for a letter jacket varies depending on customization, but usually runs between $150 and $200. How can an athlete get a driving waiver?
|
|
Some athletes practice or have games or events that often extend past 6:00 PM. Student athletes with a restricted license may come to the athletic department and see Pam Gregory to obtain a driving waiver. This waiver along with a letter from their parent/guardian must be taken to the Department of Motor Vehicle for the restriction to be lifted.

| How do I handle an insurance claim for a sport related injury? |
|
The school's medical insurance on athletes only pays as a secondary insurer. This is for injuries obtained while participating on a Byrnes Athletic team. It does not cover injuries during PE. File all claims with your primary insurance company first. After they have paid, the claim may be submitted to the school's insurance company. | How can an I get a blue seat or PSL seat at Nixon Field? |

There is currently a waiting list for the reserved seats at Nixon Field. Once the football schedule for the next season is determined, notices are sent to all the current PSL holders. This is usually sometime in March or April. They are given about 4 weeks to return their renewals for season tickets. If anyone does not renew, we start calling the names on the waiting list. To get your name on the waiting list, please call Marie Meyers at 949-2360.

Tell me about the banners I see at sporting events.
Our Banner Program offers local businesses a unique way to support our athletic teams while advertising throughout the school year. We hang these banners during all home football and basketball games and at your request for either baseball or softball in the spring.
The cost of the banner for the first year is $350 and every following year that you renew $300. You may specify any of the 20 sports teams at Byrnes that you would like to receive credit for the sale of your banner. $45 is paid to the banner company to clean and condition the banners each year and the remaining funds go directly to the team to help with the cost of uniforms, equipment and travel expenses.
