The Byrnes Rebels looked phenomenal Friday night while playing the Hillcrest Rams. In a game that served as one final tune up before meeting Dorman at Nixon Field on 10/28, the Rebels dismantled the Rams while outscoring the Rams 65-0. A host of Rebels served as targets for Shuler Bentley. Bentley had 6 scoring TD’s on the night. Catching the TD passes was Colton Korn, Shakeem Wharton, and Akia Booker. Bryan Bailey recorded one passing TD. Corbin Nesbit found himself at the other end of a TD pass thrown by Bailey.
The defense also showed out Friday night. D.J. Henderson, Davon Terry, and Alex Garrett found themselves in on several turnovers for the Strike Force. Overall, the Rebel Defense would allow the Rams less than 100 yards on the game. With the win, the Rebels are 7-2 (4-0 in Region II 4-A).
Next week, Byrnes welcomes Dorman in the annual showdown. Dorman comes in at 5-4 (4-1 in Region II 4-A). Playoff position and the Region Title could possibly be on the line with this game. All of Rebel Nation is encouraged to come out and support the Rebels.
