The Rebels Soccer Team went undefeated this weekend in their Rebels Soccer Pre-season tournament. The boys defeated Blue ridge 5-0, Hammond School 1-0, and beat Chapman 2-1 to win the red Division of their tournament. Isa Chavez led the scoring with 3 goals, Jacob Cashour had 2, Eduardo Umana, hath Shaver, and Joan Panigua each had 1 goal. This is the first time the team has won their own tournament, and the first time in the history of the program the team begins the season 4-0-0 undefeated!

 

Congratulations to the Byrnes Boys Soccer Team for defeating Boiling Springs in a thrilling overtime penalty kick shoot-out 4-2 during Senior night. Junior Heath Shaver scored a penalty kick to push the game into overtime, and he scored the game winner during the penalty kick shoot-out. Other penalty kicks were scored by Eduardo Umana, Hector Ramos, and Robert Herzberg. Senior Goalkeeper Walter Hughes made two huge saves during the shoot-out. The Rebels finished the season with the #4 seed and will travel to Clover on Tuesday, May 8 in the first round of the 4A playoffs.

The Byrnes Rebels Boys' Varsity Soccer team defeated Dorman 2-1 March 28, 2012.

The Rebels lead 1-0 on a goal by Junior Isa Chavez in the 2nd half, until Dorman equalized right at the end of regulation time. The game went into over-time and was decided by penalty kicks. The Rebels won in the penalty kick shoot-out 4-2. Goal scorers were Eduardo Umana, Isa Chavez, Hector Ramos, and Heath Shaver (game winner). Senior goalkeeper Walter Hughes made some excellent saves during the game and a critical save during the shoot-out. The win marks the first time in history when Byrnes has defeated Dorman in boys soccer and puts the team in a three way tie for 3rd place in the region.

The Byrnes Boys Varsity Soccer Team defeated Mauldin 2-1. Goals were scored by Reese Jackson and Josef Hunde. The team was led by goalkeeper Tanner Eggers and Christian Earnhardt.
