Boys Basketball News

  • Third in Region

    From Coach Fowler:

The boys basketball team lost tonight 91-63 at Easley.  It's hard ending a season on such a low note but I want to thank you for all your help and support for our guys throughout this season.  I'm very proud of our guys, and they did make the playoffs 2 years in a row and finished 3rd in the region this year.  So if you see the guys Thursday morning, maybe offer a little encouragement their way because I know they will need it.  Thanks again for all you do.

  • Boys end in victory

The Varsity boys topped off a great senior night with a 83-32 win over Riverside.  With the win, the Rebels finished third in the region and have made the playoffs two consecutive years.  The team will probably travel to Easley next Wednesday (Feb 15) for the first round playoff game.  All the players scored last night in the game and it was a great way to honor our 3 seniors: Shy Williams, Zacourrious Morton, and Keith Anderson.  Head Coach Fowler wants to personally thank all of the Byrnes Family for the help with the whole team and whole program as they make this journey through high school.

A special thanks to: Andrea Mabrey (Study Hall Captain and Scorebook Keeper), Mr. Craycraft (clock keeper and pizza buyer), teachers that walked with our seniors last night (Ms. Swope, Mrs. Dunlap, Ms. Little) and all of you that teach/help them daily in class.

  • Senior Night Feb. 7

We will honor our six seniors next Tuesday, February 7 between games.  The girls game starts at 6:00 p.m. so the ceremony should begin around 7:15 p.m.  The players and teams would love to see you there.  Thanks and have a great day!!
