They had to finish top in the top 8 out of <em><strong>all</strong></em> 4A schools in South Carolina.</p>

<p>Morgan Allen in the Pole Vault</p>

Please congratulate the following individuals and also wish the other track members luck today as they wrap up day two!</p>
<p>Aaron Trella won the region in Shot-Put.</p>
<p>The girls 4x800 broke the school record with a time of 10:00.74...previous was 10:05. The team was comprised of Tori Davies(11th), Emma Jennings(10th), Savanna Donahue(11th), and Nayanika McClain(9th).</p>
<p>The following individuals also qualified for the state qualifier in Columbia next Saturday:</p>
<p>Tyson Holcomb in the Long Jump and Triple Jump</p>
<p>Aaron Trella in the Shot-put and Discus</p>

Morgan Allen won the Pole Vault event at a height of 12 feet 1 inch. This is the new county and school record. By clearing this height, Morgan has qualified for the national high school track meet and is now currently ranked top 40 in the country.<br />
Aaron Trella was our other county champion in the Shot-Put field event. He threw the 12lb shot 48 feet 11 inches to secure the win.<br />
The following individuals and relays also had good performances:<br />
Girls 4x800 placed 2nd. Congratulations to Tori Davies, Emma Jennings, Savanna Donahue, and Niyankia McClain<br />
Boys 4x800 placed 3rd. The team was comprised Connor Kinzie, James McVey, Harry Stathakis, and Malik Epps.<br />
Zach Talley has the 2nd fasted time in the 110 High Hurdles Prelims. He will compete in the Finals on April 18.<br />
Scottisha Drummond placed 3rd in the Triple Jump event.</p>

Morgan Allen was the loan athlete representing the team as athletes needed to place top eight at the state qualifier to advance. Byrnes had many athletes on the bubble placing 9th and 10th. We hope to have more advance next year.  Morgan was able to move up three places from last year as she placed third in the state. Morgan jumped a height of eleven feet six inches and hopes to improve on this number next year as she goes after the state record her senior year. This is the first of three meets of the track and field playoff system. The ultimate goal is to make it to the state meet to compete to be the state champion. To move on, the athletes had to place top five in their events. The following individuals qualified and are moving on to the second of the three meets.<br />

Both teams now stand with a 6-2 record as the team enters the Region Championships on April 11 at Dorman High School. Please congratulate the members of the track and wish them luck on April 11th as they compete for the Region Title!  </p>
<p>The boys team won with a score of 91 over Riverside with 53 and Hillcrest with 34. </p>
<p>The following boys won their events: James Jones - 110 Meter Hurdles, Markus Eadie - 100 and 200 Meter Dash, Griffin Eubanks - 1600 Meter Run, KeKe Ashmore - 400 Meter Run and Long Jump, Connor Kinzie - 3200 Meter Run, Tyson Holcombe - Triple Jump, Aaron Trella - Discus, Doc Dillard - Shot Put.  The girls team won with a score of 84 over Hillcrest with 50 and Riverside with 40. </p>

The boys lost to Dorman (the defending state champions) and won over JL Mann. The boys learned much about themselves last night while many stepped up and competed against great competition. The following boys placed 1st in their events:  Markus Eadie - 100m, Dash Tre Barron - 200m, Dash James Jones - 400m, Hurdles Boys 4x100 - Will Rogers, Markus Eadie, KeKe Ashmore, Tre Barron, Boys 4x800 - Griffin Eubanks, Ryan Smith, Connor Kinzie, Josh Mabe, Doc Dillard - Shot Put, Aaron Trella - Discus.  The boys team now has a 4-2 record.  </p>
<p>The girls track and field team lost to both JL Mann and Dorman last night. JL Mann was the defending state runner up and Dorman won the state title in 2010. Both of these teams are very tough and always bring great competition. The following girls placed 1st in their events:   Tori Davies - 3200m run, Morgan Allen - Pole Vault, Alexis Downs - Triple Jump.  The girls team now has a 4-2 record.  </p>
<p>Thanks for the continued support. The boys team fought very hard to leave with a win, but fell short by only 5 points(which is not a lot in track). The boys did leave with a win over Boiling Springs and many personal best times/jumps/throws were set. </p>

We had lots of returners perform well and a lot of new comers step up and score points for the teams.</p>
